The northern wheatear or wheatear Oenanthe oenanthe is a small passerine bird more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher. Northern wheatears first breed when they are one year old and the nest is placed in a cavity such as a rabbit burrow, a crevice among rocks or in a man-made object such as a wall or pipe.
