The bleak, but beautiful, treeless landscape of north west Sutherland, at the top of Scotland. On the left slope, can be seen the A838 road from Rhiconich to Durness, a main roadway, but still single track. Time slows down, and lags behind, in this true wilderness. Some of the oldest rocks on earth, can be found in this locale, and consist of acid gneiss, amphibolite and calc-silicate.
