| The Arena of Nîmes is a Roman amphitheatre, built around AD 70, remodelled in 1863 to serve as a bullring. There are certainly bigger Roman amphitheatres, but this one is the best preserved of all of them. In front of the Arena a bronze sculpture of Nimeño II, called Hero. |
