Chang'e, the daughter of Emperor Di-zao (Emperor Tiandijun) and wife of Hou Yi (Dayi), one of the three emperors and five emperors in ancient times, was originally called Chang'e [1]. Chang'e was renamed Chang'e for avoiding the taboo of Emperor Liu Heng in the Western Han Dynasty, and was also called Chang'e.
It is said that Chang'e and Hou Yi pioneered monogamy. In order to commemorate them, later generations deduced the story of Chang'e running to the moon. There are many legends and poems and songs among the people. [2] In mythology and legend, Chang'e flew to the moon to become immortal for stealing the immortal medicine Dayi sought from the Queen Mother of West and lived in the vast cold palace above the moon.
