| Located a few miles south of Bend oregon,this are contains numerous volcanic related type of geologic formations. For a short distance from the beginning of the tube,stairs and a railing are used to traverse the broken rock section until the smooth part of the tube is reached. These photos are of an underground lava tube. It is a 1 mile long hike and ends up about 300 feet underground,going under why 97. There are no lights,you must have your own lighting. There are also volcanic rock formations and craters in the monument area. |
