| Passengers alighting one of the historic green St. Charles Avenue street cars running along the edge of the French Quarter and through the Central Business District in downtown New Orleans. It is the oldest continually operating street car line in the world. The line and the cars that run on it are listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. Popular with residents and visitors alike, the St. Charles line is one of three public transit street car lines running through New Orleans, the other two being the Riverfront line and the Canal Street line. |
