| The New Guinea viper boa (Candoia aspera) mimics the looks and defensive behavior of the Papuan death adder (Acanthophis laevis). Sadly this means also that many of them are killed on sight out of fear, although this snake is harmless. It is a terrestrial ambush predator that hunts amphibians, lizards and the occasional mammal. They are endemic to the island of Papua New Guinea and Papua province,Indonesia. |
