Section dedicated to the Sasanian Empire in the Luigi Pigorini National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography in Rome, Italy. The museum is located in the Palace of the Sciences in the EUR-zone of Rome, which was designed as the venue for the World Exhibition in 1942 which never took place however because of WW II. The museum is one of the most important of its kind in Italy, for both the number and quality of objects in its collections, as well as the research departments it houses. The well-known scientist Luigi Pigorini created the Museo Preistorico Etnografico in 1875.
