The National Centre for the Performing Arts is a landmark building located west of Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing, on the west side of the Great Hall of the People. It is composed of the main building, underwater corridors on both sides, underground parking lots, artificial lakes, and green spaces.The National Theatre of China was designed by French architect Paul Andrew. The appearance of the National Theatre is semi elliptical, with a long axis length of 212.20 meters in the east-west direction and a short axis length of 143.64 meters in the north-south direction. The building has a height of 46.285 meters, covers an area of 118900 square meters, and a total construction area of approximately 165000 square meters. The main building is 105000 square meters, and the underground ancillary facilities are 60000 square meters, with a total cost of 3.067 billion yuan. Equipped with supporting facilities such as opera houses, concert halls, theaters, as well as art exhibition halls, restaurants, audio and video stores.
