| Rain and mist clear to the east and partially obscure the horizon over the city of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. Sheer cliffs, dropping down hundreds of feet to the prairie below required the Oregon Trail to pass south of the escarpment between the north and south ridges. Eroded rock pinnacles stand out along the tgop of the ridge. |
