Narcissus is a genus of predominantly spring perennial plants of the Amaryllidaceae amaryllis family. Various common names including daffodil, daffadowndilly, narcissus and jonquil are used to describe all or some members of the genus. Narcissus has conspicuous flowers with six petal-like tepals surmounted by a cup- or trumpet-shaped corona. The flowers are generally white or yellow also orange or pink in garden varieties, with either uniform or contrasting coloured tepals and corona. This is a Narcissus `Dutch Master`. Also known as King Alfred, Dutch Master daffodils are one of the most popular cultivars produced worldwide. Its showy yellow flowers feature the classic daffodil trumpet shape and generally bloom in early to mid-spring. Plus, these plants multiply freely into clumps over the years, making them ideal for a naturalized wildflower garden. Detail of a yellow narcisssus flower. Grass, flowers and leaves as background.
