| The Royal Museum is an old palace building that was once inhabited by several Sultan of Kedah. Various names are given such as Kota Kota Setar, Mak Wan Besar Palace, Pelamin Palace or House of Lodges. This palace was completed in 1735 with the opening of Alor Setar as the 8th administrative center of the State of Kedah by the late Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin Mu`adzam Shah II 1710-1778. |
