The Egidio Romualdo Duni Conservatory of Music, founded by Nino Rota, is part of the Italian high-level artistic, musical and dance institutes, based in the Palazzo del Sedile in Matera. It is dedicated to the Matera composer of the same name, to whom the Duni film theater was also dedicated. The conservatory has three sections respectively inside the Palazzo del Sedile, Palazzo Bronzini and Palazzo Ridola. Up until the early 1980s, a fourth section was active located in Palazzo Malvinni-Malvezzi. The first houses in its basement an Auditorium named after Raffaele Gervasio, with a capacity of about 500 seats, used for concert activities, festivals, seminars and competitions organized by the institution and by the municipal body. The Conservatory also has a library specialized in the musical and musicological sector. The documentary collection has been enriched by some donations, including the Paternoster Fund, the Pedote Fund, the Autera Fund and the De Bellis Fund. In Palazzo Bronzini there is the concert hall dedicated to Nino Rota, founder of the conservatory. Matera, Basilicata, Italy
