Munich Town Hall was built between 1867 and 1908 by Georg von Hauberrisser in a Gothic Revival architectural style. It's main façade fronts the Marienplatz and is richly decorated. The Frauenkirche is the local cathedral church and due to local planning restrictions on the height of buildings, its towers can be seen dominating the town from many of the streets and square in central Munich.
