| Moulin de la Galette in Montmartre. This is the only windmill in Paris that is still in working condition. It is visible from the Rue Lepic in Montmartre. In 1870, Charles-Nicolas Debray, mill owner Blute-Fin, added a tavern and a ball and baptized all the Moulin de la Galette in 1895. La Galette was this little rye bread that Debray millers retailed, accompanied by a glass of milk, lovers of the picturesque. |
