Building of the Soviet hotel `Ukraine` is wellknown as one of the seven skyscrapers in soviet empire style erected in 1950s according to Stalin`s idea. Construction of seven skyscrapers was one of the manner of demonstration of the power of the Soviet Union, which is the country that had won in a terrible war, stayed undefeated, and liberated half of Europe. Thanks to the Stalin`s ambitions, Moscow is adorned with unique architectural buildings, which foundations were laid at the same time on 7 September 1947, the day that became considered the birthday of the city. As architectural masterpiece building of the hotel `Ukraine` is distinguished by the perfection of the composition. The Central building with tower, topped with a spire, balances the clear monumentality of the wings. Corner towers with and vases, imitating sheaves of wheat, emphasize the palatial style of the building. The Central building was occupied by the hotel and side wings were reserved for housing. The opening of the hotel took place 25.05.1957. At that time `Ukraine` was the largest hotel in Europe, today it acquired the status of a luxury hotel of the European level.
