This memorial to General Liam Lynch of the anti-treaty forces, was erected in the Knockmealdown Mountains outside Goatenbridge.He commanded an effective Brigade in the Irish War of Independence.Nearing the end of the Irish Civil War he was shot and fatally wounded. This round tower marks the site where he was wounded on April 10Th. 1923.
