Panteleimon`s cat monument is one of the most original and unusual in Kiev. It was set up in 1998 opposite the restaurant of Osteria Pantagruel. The bronze statue of the cat Panteleimon stands on a rock in the park opposite the Golden Gate, in the historic center of Kiev. In 1990, the famous restaurateur, the owner of the network of Kyiv restaurants, in particular the restaurant of Osteria Pantagruel Margarita Sichkar, had an idea to settle at a cat restaurant. According to another version, the restaurant director was given a kitten-chinchilla. It is not surprising, but the cat very quickly become a favorite not only the hostess and staff, but also visitors. Keith became a living mascot of the restaurant. Gray Persian cat Pantiusha never let himself rest until he is convinced that all the guests are conveniently located and feel well. One day there was a fire in the restaurant, unfortunately Pantyusha died. In memory of the cat in front of the restaurant installed a bronze statue of the cat. The author of this original project was Ukrainian sculptor Bogdan Mazur, and sponsors were given by friends of the restaurant, regular customers.
