| The Monts d'Orb dam is a dam on the Orb located in Avène, in the Hérault department in France. It is associated with a small hydroelectric plant with an installed capacity of 1.3 MW. the dam is mainly used for irrigation and drinking water supply to the west of the Hérault. It allows during strong stormy episodes the capping of floods. Water is retained during the fall and winter, and is returned to the river in the spring and summer. The regulation makes it possible to support the low water level of the Orb during the summer period. It is an arch dam. |
