| Approximately 5km north of central Lhasa , Sera Monastery was one of Lhasa`s two great Gelugpa monsateries , second only to Drepung . Sera was founded in 1419 , look up and see , high on the cliff above Sera , it is Sera Utse retreat , trek to here needs at least one hour . Sera Utse was a retreat used by Tsongkhapa .
