Guxiang Lake is located in the ancient village of Guxiang, 33 kilometers from Bomi County, Tibet, 210 kilometers from Nyingchi area. The lake is 2600 meters above sea level, 5 kilometers long, 2 kilometers wide at its widest point, more than 20 meters at its deepest point, and an area of 20,000 square meters. The lake was formed by the `Xionglu Gini` glacier activity in the back mountains of Guxiang in 1953, which caused the eruption of a huge mudslide in the `Kagonong Nongba` to block the Palong Tsangpo River.
