| `Bubanj` memorial park, built in 1963, is dedicated to the tens of thousands of Serbian, Jewish and Roma victims from the near by city of Nis that were shot, killed and buried here during the second world war. The memorial complex was an ideal solution of the Croatian sculptor Ivan Sabolic, who envisioned the three fists rising from the ground as both a vengeance for the dead and the spiritual resistance of fascism. |
