| Aster amellus, or Italian Aster, has both ornamental and medicinal uses, attracting pollinators with its late summer and fall blooms and providing roots used traditionally for anti-inflammatory, antitussive, and haemostatic properties to treat coughs and pulmonary issues. Its roots are also used to make tea for indigestion and applied to boils, while its flowers attract butterflies and bees. Additionally, the plant has potential as a phytoremediation agent to degrade textile dyes in an eco-friendly manner. |
