Michael Bloomberg is an American politician, businessman, author, CEO, magnate, philanthropist, and Democratic Party Presidential candidate in 2020. Here he is photographed on May 5, 2003 on the occasion of the grand re-opening, ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony of the Millenium Hilton New York Downtown Hotel at 55 Church Street in Lower Manhattan. The hotel sustained damage on September 11, 2001 as it is located across the street from what has been termed ground zero of the terrorist attack and destruction of the Twin Trade Towers. Bloomberg founded Bloomberg News, a financial news agency. He served as chairman of the Board of Governors of his alma mater, Johns Hopkins University. He served 3 terms as mayor of New York City, from 2002 until Dec. 31, 2013.
