| This reef that can be seen from the viewpoint of the sirens, next to the Cabo de Gata lighthouse, is one of the most emblematic and photographed views of the Park. It is located in the exact geographical point of Cabo de Gata, therefore it is the easternmost part of southern Spain. Surely the place owes its name to the presence of monk seals that inhabited this reef and that ancient navigators could mistake for mermaids. |
