| The Liberty Monument Shipka is part of the National Historical Museum Shipka. Here during the time of the Russian-Turkish Liberation War 1877-1878 one of the most decisive battles was lead. This battle has predetermined the victorious end of the war and has brought liberty to Bulgaria after the 5 centuries of Turkish yoke. Together with the Russian soldiers there were about 6000 Bulgarian volunteers who took part in the battles. |
