Pictured is part of a memorial in memory of the children of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing in Washington Irving Memorial Park and Arboretum in Bixby, Oklahoma. A bronze statue of a boy reading a book with a dog at his feet rests on a granite pededestal with a memorial plaque. The 32-acre public park also serves as an arboretum and includes a beam from the World Trade Center honoring September 11, 2001. The park is named in honor of American writer, Washington Irving, who camped in the area in October 1832 while participating in a federal expedition to the American West. It also includes a bronze statue of the iconic New York author seated on the porch of a replica of his home, Sunnyside at Tarrytown, New York.
