The only preserved crown from the Romanesque period, which certainly belonging to the Piast dynasty. The first rulers of Poland. The crown became a votive gift and today it is part of the reliquary of St. Sigismund. It is a craftsmanship of ornamentation, showing also unusual expensive stones imported to order. The crown belonged to prince Konrad of Masovia, who, contrary to popular views, didn`t bring the Teutonic Knights to Poland first, thus creating their state, but he was certainly second after the prince of Silesia - Henry or even 3d. Lonely in the fight against the tribes of the Balts, and the Mongol invasions, he had any choice. He also organized an expedition to the Khan - Benedict the Pole , which started with William of Rubuck. Today mostly forgotten altough came to Khan years before Marco Polo.
