A beautiful perennial plant, giving off a very pleasant scent, with a taproot that initially forms and then branches. Annual stems, reaching 0.80 m tall, are cylindrical, grooved, hairy-wooly, and branched above. Grey leaves, tomentose on both sides, with wavy, sinuate-toothed edges. The lower leaves taper to a petiole, slightly clasping at the base. The others become sessile, then clasping, auriculate, and then triangular.
