| Legendary actress and singer Mary Martin flashes a winning smile after performing in the play `Do You Turn Somersaults?` at the Kennedy Center in Washington,DC, in 1977, prior to its Broadway run in 1978. Martin won a Primetime Emmy and multiple Tony Awards for her leading roles in musicals such as `Peter Pan,` `South Pacific,` and `The Sound of Music.` She is also well known for title role in `Annie Get Your Gun.` She was a Kennedy Center Honoree and an inductee in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Martin died in Rancho Mirage,California on November 3, 1990 at the age of 76. |
