| Martinuzzi Castle, also known as Alvinc Castle, is a medieval castle located in Vin?u de Jos, in the Transylvania region of Romania. The fortress is noted as one of the earliest and most influential examples of the Italian Renaissance style in Transylvania. The castle suffered damage from Ottoman and Tatar attacks between 1658 and 1661. During Romania's communist rule, it was used for industrial storage, a granary, and a meat processing plant, leading to further deterioration. Northern parts of the structure collapsed in 1981, and after the Romanian Revolution, the castle was abandoned |
