This is a Quiscalus mexicanus bird species, Icteridae family. Common name: great-tailed grackle or Mexican grackle. Great-tailed grackles originated from the tropical lowlands of Central and South America, range expanded to North America. Males are iridescent black with a purple-blue sheen on the feathers of the head and upper body. Adults of both sexes have bright yellow eyes. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén department, Guatemala.
