The station buildings were opened in 1869 by Governor Lord Belmore with the arrival of the railway from Sydney. Goulburn then became a major railway centre with engine servicing facilities and a roundhouse. Goulburn now has one side platform & one island platform with two faces with early morning and evening NSW TrainLink Southern Highlands Line services to and from Sydney Central, Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
