| Mahe is surrounded by Kerala, eventhough it is part of the union territory of Pondicherry, near Tamilnadu, India. The Mahe river empties itself into the Arabian Sea, while Pondicherry is bordered by Bay of Bengal. Both Mahe and Pondicherry are former French colonies and still carry vestiges of colonial influences. The photograph is a view of the Mahe river estuary and the pier where boats are tethered. |
