The BeÃâchatÃÂ³w coal mine is a large mine in the centre of Poland in BeÃâchatÃÂ³w, ÃÂÃÂ³dÃÂº Voivodeship, 150 km west of the capital, Warsaw. BeÃâchatÃÂ³w represents one of the largest coal reserve in Poland having estimated reserves of 1,930 million tonnes of coal. The annual coal production is around 50 million tonnes. The BeÃâchatÃÂ³w Power Station is a large 5,053 MW lignite-fired power station situated near BeÃâchatÃÂ³w in ÃÂÃÂ³dÃÂº Voivodeship, Poland. It is the largest thermal power station in Europe, and one of largest fossil fuel power stations in the world. It produces 27-28 TWh of electricity per year, or 20% of the total power generation in Poland. The power station is owned and operated by PGE Elektrownia BeÃâchatÃÂ³w S.A., a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
