It was commissioned by American Telephone and Telegraph`s president Theodore Vail in 1914 and unveiled in 1916 and placed atop the Western Electric headquarters building in New York City. After many moves and two restorations it now resides in Dallas. It is 24 feet tall and weighs 16 tons.
