This gorgeous, huge Victorian home was once the home of a family run diary business in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, and just one of several at that. The home was built in 1912 for German immigrant Lange family. William was the first settle the Haight, in 1870. With nothing but sand dunes at the time, more dairy farms would follow. When a cable car line was finished ins 1883, more people moved out here and the area became more and more affluent. When the Earthquake and fire of 1906, this area was barely touched. It was the Great Depression and WW2that caused the greatest changes to the area, forcing people to move to less expensive areas. The homes in the area either were subdivided at that time, or sat vacant for a long time. Although all the farms are long gone, this home still stands, beautifully, as seen 9 July 2022.
