The Piatra Craiului Mountains German Königstein is a mountainous limestone chain located in the southwest of the Eastern Carpathians, but belonging to the Southern Carpathians chain, located in their north-east. The maximum altitude of Piatra Craiului is reached at the Omul Peak, also known as Piscul Baciului, having 2,238 m. The massif has numerous peaks over 2,000 meters altitude.
