| Pictured is a monument to Kazimierz Kwiatkowski in Hoi An, Vietnam. He became the head of the Polish-Vietnamese Mission Conservation of Monuments. Thanks to his efforts, the charming old town of Hoi An survived and today, next to the Bay of Ha Long, Hoi An is the most visited place in Vietnam. He directed conservation work in Vietnam from 1981 until his death in 1997. His nicknames included Kazik, Znachor, and `Man from the jungle`. |
