Kun Iam Statue is a 32-metre tall statue of the goddess of mercy, a much revered deity in Macau. It is located on a manmade island off the Macau peninsula, and linked to it by a 60-metre causeway. Geomancy was employed to determine the most auspicious location to position the statue, to align it with Guia Hill and the Kun Iam Temple. The Kun Iam statue is clad in bronze. It weighs 50 tonnes and is 20 metres tall. It was cast at a foundry in Nanjing, one of the largest foundries in China.
