The Kiosk of Trajan at Philae. Philae (also referred to as the Temple of Isis) dates from the 30th Dynasty and is one of the best preserved Ptolemaic temples in Egypt. Originally sitting on the east bank of the River Nile, the temple was relocated to higher land on the island of Agilqiyya in the early 1970's after the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The temples were dedicated to Isis. |
