Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, Netherlands

Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands and one of the largest ports in the world. In the 1990s, the Kop van Zuid was built on the south bank of the river the Nieuwe Maas as a new business centre. In the front the modern Erasmus Bridge providing the link between the northern bank of the river Nieuwe Maas and the Kop van Zuid. Because of the elegant twist in the pylon, the bridge is also called de Zwaan (the Swan). At the background the iron Train Bridge, a former railway bridge across the Koningshaven, called the Hefbrug.
