| 13th-century CEÃÂ SunÃÂ Temple atÃÂ KonarkÃÂ inÃÂ Orissa, India. It is believed that the temple was built by kingÃÂ Narasimhadeva IÃÂ ofÃÂ Eastern Ganga Dynasty[1]ÃÂ in 1255 CE.[2]ÃÂ The temple complex is in the shape of a gigantic chariot, having elaborately carved stone wheels, pillars and walls.[3]ÃÂ A major part of the structure is now in ruins. The temple is aÃÂ UNESCO World Heritage Site[4]ÃÂ and has also featured onÃÂ various list of Seven Wonders of India. The temple is 35ÃÂ km fromÃÂ PuriÃÂ and 65ÃÂ km fromÃÂ Bhubaneswar. |
