View of the Kidron Valley (or Valley of Josaphat or King’s Valley) and of the eastern walls of the Old City of Jerusalem with the Golden Gate, Israel. The closed Golden Gate, as it is called in Christian literature, is the only eastern gate of the Temple Mount and one of only two that used to offer access into the city from that side. According to Jewish tradition, the Shekhinah (Divine Presence) used to appear through the eastern Gate, and will appear again when the Messiah will come. RAW file available.
