The impressive, strategic cargo and troop transport aircraft Boeing C-17 measures 174 feet long, wingspan of 169 feet 10 inches, and height of 55 feet 1 inch. The aircraft is powered by four Pratt & Whitney F117-PW-100 turbofan engines and includes thrust reversers. The versatile C-17 can take off and land on runways as short as 3,500 feet and only 90 feet wide. Demo flight showed the C17 maneuver for a midair refuel with Stratotanker KC135R.
