The Kat Balcony in the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa is an outstanding feature of a dividing wall that separates the inner courtyard of the fortress. The original balcony was built in 1695, then rebuilt in its present form between 1786 and 1790. From this balcony, proclamations and announcements were made to soldiers, slaves and civilians at the Cape.
