Kalk Bay Harbor on the Eastern side of the Cape peninsula is a small commercial fishing harbor from where trawlers depart daily (weather permitting) to fish the cold Atlantic waters off Cape Point. Seals are attracted to the harbor due to the fishing industry. The fishermen use hand lines, and the boat owners also have licenses to catch lobster, crayfish and crabs using cages. The harbor is a colorful place with equally colorful folk fishing from there. It is a nice photographic venue for any visitor to Cape Town. The many restaurants too, make a visit well worthwhile.
