Julian Freeman wearing a U.S. Army Air Corps crusher hat and bombardier jacket arrives at the New York City premiere of `Red Tails` at the Ziegfeld Theatre on January 10, 2012. Freeman was a member of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen corps and captain of the 100th fighter squadron. He was among those who overcame racism in America and then took on fascism in Europe during World War Two. Here he is surrounded by well-wishers including actors and director Anthony Hemingway on far right. Freeman, a Congressional Gold Medal winner, died in Queens, NY, on July 22, 2016 at the age of 89.
