Chinatown in San Francisco has many streets and allies that are barely known or that anyone ever looks at, except for a few of the very local people who might just happen to live there or have other, actual business there. Joice Street is rather unique in this regard. The YWCA building, which is actually fronted on Clay St but runs along Joice, is one of the famed creations of Julia Morgan, the famous architect, herself a native of San Francisco. The building now houses the Chinese Historical Society. There are also apartments along here. As seen September 2021.
