The Mount of Olives or Mount Olivet is a mountain ridge east of and adjacent to Jerusalem's Old City. The Mount has been used as a Jewish cemetery for over 3,000 years and holds approximately 150,000 graves, making it central in the tradition of Jewish cemeteries. The Mount offers a spectacular aerial view of Jerusalem. The Golden dome of Al-Aqsa Mosque can be seen in this picture. Al-Aqsa Mosque, also known as Al-Aqsa and Bayt al-Muqaddas, is the third holiest site in Islam and is located in the Old City of Jerusalem.
